Antique pair of 1928 Pompeian Bronze Co. bookends featuring the iconic literary figures Dante Alighieri and Beatrice. Classic Art Deco styling with embossed architectural and floral detailing. Each piece retains its original bronze finish and factory hallmark on the reverse. Solid spelter construction with excellent relief detail.
Displays beautifully with age-appropriate wear, scuffs, and one underside dent (does not affect display). A wonderful example of early 20th-century decorative metalwork and a desirable addition to any Art Deco, literary, or bookend collection.
Condition is good for 98 years old. Measures 6" tall with a 2" base. See photos.
