A Gilt Cherub Hand Mirror, Late 19th–Early 20th Century

A finely cast gilt metal hand mirror of circular form, surmounted by a playful cherubs in relief and supported below by a standing putto figure forming the handle. The mirror plate is set within a delicately beaded and ornamented frame, the reverse and mount displaying rich sculptural modeling characteristic of late Victorian and Edwardian decorative objects.
The putto handle is cast in the round, with softly articulated features and draped detailing, lending the piece both visual weight and classical charm. The gilt surface retains an attractive, time-softened patina with areas of wear, rubbing, and darkening consistent with age and handling.
