Antique Native American Coil-Woven Basket Handmade Split Stitch using Natural Beach Grass. I believe this to be an Inuit Yup'ik basket utilizing the split stitch technique on a coil woven basket. There is a repeating vertical design that looks like it may be representing an arrow or a similar shape.

Condition: Good/Fair condition. Unraveling around the rim, revealing the bundled grass structure (3rd & 5th pic). The color has faded on the outside, which you can notice when you look at the weave on the inside of the basket (4th pic). There should be three darker red/brown horizontal stripes. There are also portions of the vertical "arrow" design that are not intact (3rd pic). This item has been stored with mothballs and will have a mothball smell.
