Stunning hand-etched studio pottery vase by acclaimed Nicaraguan artist Roger Calero. From the famous pottery village of San Juan de Oriente, Calero is known for his mastery of sgraffito technique. Approximately 5 1/4" tall when seated on its matching stand ring & about 3 3/4" wide at its widest. Piece features intricate geometric patterns & symbolic motifs etched through vibrant earth-toned slips. Contrast between polished surfaces & the textured, unglazed carvings is exceptional. Hand-signed on the bottom: "Hecho - Roger Calero - Nicaragua" (Made by Roger Calero in Nicaragua). Origin: San Juan de Oriente, Nicaragua. Height: Approx. 5.25" tall (including stand). Condition: Very good vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs. Very minor surface wear on bottom of vase where it sits on the ring. Clean & smoke free.
