Taka Hayashi x VANS Vault 66 LX Slip-On - Men's US Size 8 (GOOD)

Coming straight from VANS Vault is a work by Taka Hayashi, a long-standing designer boasting at least two dozen collaborations with the footwear brand. The upper is composed of woven blue and pink nubuck stripes (resembling the original checkerboard). Co-branding is mainly found on the leather part of the insole, which is also cushioned by foam. The padding around the collar and tongue is made of leather, and the deeper lining is made of textile. The unmistakable white midsole joins the upper and a regular brown waffled outsole. These shoes are a grail if you ever find a pair in your size.
CONDITION: They haven't been worn, at least by me, but certainly by my predecessor, who managed to keep the upper sturdy and free of stains on an easily soiled nubuck. The midsoles do show some signs of wear with light discoloration and a few marks thereabout. He must not have worn the shoes much, given the roundedness of the outsole's front and back, which could be in worse condition.
