This item has been confirmed to be in working order for power, playback, fast forward, and rewind during the listing process.
Since there is no power cord, the functionality was checked using batteries.
Playback produces a fairly loud volume. Fast forward and rewind work, sometimes smoothly and sometimes slowly, but they were usable. There is no rust in the battery box. The exterior also has no noticeable damage and is in quite good condition.
Recording has not been confirmed as there is no blank tape.
This is a Showa-era retro item from that time.
