Beautiful sterling and abalone bracelet is from the city of Iguala. The bracelet consists of five links of curved sterling with a stair step pattern of silver that is inlaid with abalone. The face of the links is smooth to the touch indicating that the artist was a perfectionist. The silver in this bracelet is very clean with hardly any tarnishing. Beautiful and light weight, it is marked with words in a circle “IGUALA 925 MEXICO” and the initials “JPM” inside the circle. There is an eagle stamp on the tongue of the clasp with the number “2”. The style of the stamp helps us date this piece to between 1955 and 1980 with a style most similar to the 1960s to 70s period. Measuring 7 inches long and 7/8 of an inch wide, it closes with a tongue in groove clasp and is in excellent condition.
