Original concert flyer taken from a street lamp pole on Haight St. and Cole in San Francisco for Perry Ferrel’s 2nd Band, P@rno for Pyros, with the Flaming Lips, Sunday March 30th 1998 at The Warfield concert hall at 982 Market Street. Great show with the Flaming Lips blowing the headliners out of the water despite PforP having two of Jane’s Addiction’s original lineup and telling the world that we’ll Make Great Pets. Twas a Great message, surely, but lacking Jane’s Addiction’s inherant energy due to perhaps Perry’s sobriety and different musical direction, Flaming Lips singer, Wayne, went from playing pianos lit on fire at early shows, he showed the City that songs sung about a girl named Yoshimo while rolling across the crowd inside a clear Plastic Bubble at the classic Art Deco building of the Warfield that they just got better with age. Two great bands, one hell of a show, and a perfect snapshot of a bygone era of classic 90s concert advertisement.
