Vintage children’s paperback book called “The Circus” by Klara E. Knecht who was the educational director of the Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus.

The Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus was the second largest Circus in the country, behind Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus.

It traveled around the country throughout the early 20th century until it ultimately ended in 1938.

The complex near Peru, Indiana that formerly housed the winter home of Hagenbeck-Wallace now serves as the home of the Circus Hall of Fame.

This particular children’s book tells the story of the circus with many black and white photographs. The front cover and back cover have detached from the book, but both are still present.

The book is incredibly old - published in 1934 - and the cover indicates it was number 2098. Book is in fair shape. All pages are readable and no writing is in the book. Please see photos for more details on the condition of this item.
